Hyderabad: The Telangana govt wants IT sector growth to percolate down to not just tier-2 cities but tier-3 centres as well. This is why it is working to drive IT companies to ensure 100% occupancies in the existing and upcoming IT towers in cities such as Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Siddipet, Adilabad, and even Mancherial and Ramagundam, IT and industries minister D Sridhar Babu said on Tuesday.
“We are making every effort to convince companies and have also been talking to players such as HCL and GlobalLogic because they are keen to go to smaller centres where talent is available. We want to ensure that not only Hyderabad grows but all our tier-2 and -3 cities grow along with it as well, and many Hyderabads emerge in the process. We are ready to provide whatever infrastructure is required,” he said, citing the example of the proposed Future City that the govt plans to develop.
“The primary objective is to provide youth in Telangana employment at their doorstep,” he said. TNN
