Hyderabad: Hyderabad police, who last week issued notices to former BRS MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah in the alleged phone tapping case, are likely to summon a few more former BRS MLAs.
While the names of at least two former MLAs from the erstwhile Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda districts are circulating in political circles, the investigators have denied serving notices or being in the process of serving notices on any BRS leader or former MLA. One of the MLAs, whose name cropped up, denied receiving any notices in the case.
“The investigation is on. Based on the findings and their association, if any, with the accused or any knowledge of the case, we might summon them in due course,” a source said. Meanwhile, Lingaiah, who was asked to appear before the assistant commissioner of police, Jubilee Hills division on Nov 11, sought time citing health reasons. He informed police that he would appear before them on Nov 14.tnn
