BHPian Petronius recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Picked up the MY25 speed 400 last week. Didn’t really look into other options before finalising. Went to Triumph showroom a couple of times and test rode both Speed and Scrambler 400x. Loved both. While the Speed was the easiest to handle and more fun, the scrambler was comfortable and gave more of a big bike feel. I felt Speed would suit my height and my use case of occasional riding well. When I went there the second time, the new MY25 models were available. The speed 400 in racing red colour won my heart over instantly. There was no turning back from that moment. From there on I just started finding reasons after reasons to get one. Booked it right there. The only downer for me was that the one on display sported a blacked out exhaust. Which IMO was a weak link in an other wise beautifully crafted motorcycle. Luckily by the time I processed payment and other formalities, I read on internet that the chrome exhaust were being brought back on the speed 400. Checked with my dealer and they acknowledged the same. This was now a perfect motorcycle. In about a weeks time, the dealer informed that they have received racing red with the chrome exhaust. Went to the showroom right-away and made sure they allotted me that. Looked perfect from all angles. Dealer promised delivery in 2-3 days. After sleepless nights and restless days, finally took it home last Friday. I will try to capture my initial experience in my next post. Here are some pics.
