45 passengers on Telangana Road Transport Corporation TSRTC bus trapped in floodwaters rescued in Warangal – Telangana News

Forty-five passengers on a Telangana Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) bus were successfully rescued by Nekkonda Police in Telangana’s Warangal district after it was trapped in floodwaters on the Nekkonda-Venkatapuram embankment late last night.

The passengers spent a night on the bus, which was stranded in the wake of the rising water level.

After the local authorities were alerted about the bus, Nekkonda Police swiftly deployed an earthmover to rescue the stranded bus, ensuring the safe evacuation of all the passengers stuck on the bus.

One of the X users tagged TSRTC and wrote, “Could you please take action to assist the passengers stranded in the river?”

In response, TSRTC stated, “Good morning, sir; the above bus stuck in a flood; all the passengers and RTC staff shifted to a safe place with the help of Nekkonda police.”

Meanwhile, in the wake of the rising flood threats, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy instructed its officials to be on alert and take preventative measures.

In a meeting with Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Reddy asked officials from the Revenue, Municipal, Electricity, and Health Departments to be vigilant. He emphasised the need for immediate action to prevent any untoward incidents, including relocating residents from low-lying areas to relief camps.
