The Mahindra XUV 3XO has been subjected to the latest Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP) crash test and scored a full safety rating. The subcompact SUV received 29.36 points out of 32 for adult occupant protection and 43 points out of 49 for child occupant protection. The MX2 and AX7 L variants were put up for crash tests by the safety watchdog, equipped with six airbags (frontal, side head curtain, side chest, and side pelvis) along with belt pretensioners, belt load-limiters, electronic stability control, pedestrian protection, and seat belt reminders.
In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Mahindra XUV 3XO scored 13.36 points out of 16 and 16 out of 16 in the side movable deformable barrier test. Its dynamic, CRS installation, and vehicle assessment scores stood at 24 out of 24, 12 out of 12, and 7 out of 13 points, respectively.
Safety has been one of the strong aspects of the XUV 3XO compact SUV. Its standard safety kit includes six airbags, electronic stability control, seat belt reminders for all passengers, and three-point seat belts for all passengers. The top-end AX7 L variant comes with exclusive features, including Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera with blind-view monitor, electronic parking brake with auto hold, leatherette on the dashboard and door trims, leatherette upholstery, LED front fog lamps, 17-inch diamond-cut alloys, front parking sensors, a 65W USB-C fast charger, Harman Kardon sound system, and a panoramic sunroof.
In terms of powertrain, the Mahindra XUV 3XO offers a 111hp 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, a 131hp 1.2-litre TGDi turbo-petrol, and a 117hp 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both petrol engines are available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, while the diesel motor comes with a 6-speed AMT transmission. A manual gearbox is standard across the model lineup.
