HYDERABAD: A case was registered against a flyer who was caught smoking a cigar inside the lavatory mid-air on an Indigo flight from Hyderabad to Delhi on Wednesday. This was the second such case in less than a month.
As per the complaint filed by Indigo, smoke was detected in the lavatory during the flight while preparations for food and beverage service were underway. One of the passengers, Ahmed Ali, was found smoking a cigar inside. The crew confiscated the item and informed the captain, who noted the passenger details. As per aviation guidelines, passengers are briefed about the prohibition of smoking onboard during pre-flight announcements.
The RGIA police registered a case against Ali under Section 125 of the Aircraft Act on Thursday.
