Mahindra & Mahindra has released yet another teaser of the production-ready XEV 9e and BE 6e electric SUVs ahead of their global debut on 26th November 2024. While the Mahindra XEV 9e will be a coupe-SUV challenging the Tata Curvv EV, the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, and the Maruti e-Vitara, the Mahindra BE 6e will be the answer to the forthcoming Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV. Both SUVs appear true to their concepts, which were showcased last year on 15th August.
The upcoming Mahindra XEV 9e features a wide closed-off grille, LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, an illuminated signature logo, LED light strips, and a raised bonnet at the front. It also has pronounced wheel arches, sculpted body panels, a sleek roofline, and pop-out flush door handles. Inside, the electric SUV boasts a triple-screen setup – a digital driver’s display, a touchscreen infotainment unit, and a passenger display. The teaser also reveals a two-spoke steering wheel.

The Mahindra BE 6e features an aggressive-looking front fascia with a wide grille, LED projector headlamps with vertical light signatures, and an illuminated Mahindra logo. The electric SUV also includes flush door handles, gloss black cladding on the prominent wheel arches, and aerodynamically designed alloy wheels.

INGLO Platform and Powertrain Options
These will be the first born-electric SUVs from Mahindra, based on its all-new INGLO modular platform, which can accommodate different wheelbases, lengths, widths, and overhangs. The carmaker has already confirmed that its upcoming born-electric SUVs will feature battery packs with capacities of 60kWh to 80kWh, using lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) cells. Furthermore, the upcoming Mahindra electric SUVs will support 175kW fast charging, achieving 80 percent charge in just 30 minutes. Powertrain options will include a 170kW rear-mounted electric motor and a 250kW dual-motor AWD (all-wheel drive) setup.
Mahindra Electric SUVs – Expected Features
The Mahindra INGLO platform also includes a semi-active suspension system and brake-by-wire technology. The born-electric Mahindra SUVs are expected to come with features such as three integrated high-performance computers, embedded 5G technology, a dual-octa-core processor for HD resolution displays, an augmented reality (AR)-based head-up display (HUD), and a Level 2 ADAS suite based on a 5-radar system.
