Vijayawada: Tollywood actress Sri Reddy issued an apology to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders, specifically Nara Lokesh, for her past critical comments, in an open letter on social media platform X.
Sri Reddy, who previously targeted TDP leaders including chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh, and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan on social media, expressed remorse and sought forgiveness. The apology comes amidst legal troubles for the actress, who is facing charges in multiple cases registered by TDP and Jana Sena leaders.
Sri Reddy attributed her change of heart to the impact Amaravati’s status as state capital had on her family’s well-being and property value in Vijayawada. She revealed that her family’s longstanding support for TDP and their regret over her previous remarks. The actress pledged to refrain from offensive language in the future, emphasising her family’s hardships and desire for peace.
“I have already apologised to your party’s activists, Jana Sena women, and their families. I realise how deeply my words hurt many people,” she said.
Sri Reddy’s apology extended to prominent film industry figures like Chiranjeevi and Nagababu, acknowledging the strain caused by her past actions. She assured that even if YSRCP returned to power, her stance would not change, and she would maintain respect in her communication.
Meanwhile, she is embroiled in legal issues stemming from a complaint filed by Majji Padma, who accused her of spreading false propaganda against TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP leaders.
Padma, citing charges under sections 196, 353(2), 79 BNS, and 67 ITA-2000-2008, demanded Sri Reddy’s immediate arrest, claiming her previous complaints were disregarded during the YSRCP administration.
