Going Hybrid with Bold New Design

Kia Seltos, the midsize SUV from the South Korean automaker, is set for a generation shift in 2025. The new model has entered its testing phase, and we spotted its heavily camouflaged test mules for the first time last week. New images have emerged on the web, revealing more details about the new 2025 Kia Seltos.

The midsize SUV is likely to derive its design inspiration from the globally sold Kia EV5 SUV, including newly designed, squarish headlamps with vertically placed DRLs and LED taillamps. The front grille will be slightly revised, appearing rectangular in shape with vertical slats. The fresh spy images showcase its newly designed alloy wheels and advanced LED turn indicators.

Interior details are not available at this point. However, speculations are rife that the new Kia Seltos interior layout could resemble that of the EV3. The SUV is likely to come with a dual-tone interior theme and a new two-spoke steering wheel. Read: Kia Syros Compact SUV Coming Soon – All Detials

Most of the features will be carried forward from the current generation, which includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, wireless smartphone connectivity, front ventilated seats, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, an 8-way powered driver’s seat, an ADAS suite, an electric parking brake with auto hold, a 360-degree camera, and more.

The biggest update is expected to be under the hood. The new 2025 Kia Seltos is reported to be offered with a 1.6L hybrid powertrain that delivers 141 bhp. The Seltos hybrid might also get an AWD (all-wheel drive) system. The existing five engine-gearbox combinations will continue to be offered: the 115 bhp/144 Nm 1.5L petrol with a 6-speed manual and CVT automatic, and the 116 bhp/250 Nm 1.5L turbo diesel with a 6-speed iMT and automatic.

The exact launch date and details of the new Kia Seltos are yet to be revealed. However, the SUV is likely to hit showrooms in the second half of 2025 (possibly around the Diwali season). In the midsize SUV segment, it will continue to compete with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, Tata Curvv, and Toyota Hyryder.
