RE Classic 350 owner rides the Interceptor Bear & shares observations BHPian ex-innova-guy recently shared this with other enthusiasts: Thanks to DieselAnna’s post, I got to know that the Bear 650 is available in RE Kandivali for test rides. Had some time to kill today and went for a quick spin. The SA took my details and handed over the keys. It had merely 41 km on the ODO. As soon as you turn the key, the Interceptor Bear 650 comes up, followed by a full swipe up. The new instrument console looks great but is very camera shy, lol. Agree with DieselAnna’s observation regarding the weight of the bike since I too had to pull it out and could immediately notice how heavy it is. Here’s a walk around video of the Bear 650 (don’t know what exactly I was doing here ) Coming from a toe-heel shifter in the Classic 350, the gear shifting always took me a minute to get used to. I used to struggle on the other RE twins (GT 650 and Interceptor 650) since they don’t have the gear indicator, but having the gear indicator really helped me on the Bear. I am 5’8″ and couldn’t flatfoot it, but it was manageable. On the go, as usual, the weight of the 650 twins just disappears. I felt more comfortable on this than the Interceptor 650. Pigeons aren’t scared of the Bear Vibrations on the handlebar could be felt as low as 2000 rpm. Typical RE traits, I guess. The Bear in Wild Honey shade catches a lot of attention! A lot of police checkpoints are present in MH due to the upcoming elections, and I had to pass 2 of them; both times I could see the cops staring (gazing?) at the bike. A guy didn’t want to overtake me for almost 2 km, and I could see him admiring this beauty in the mirrors. The pillion seat and ergonomics seemed comfortable, and I reckon this would be much more comfortable than my crush GT 650. Would I pick this over the GT 650? No! I have been yearning (and earning) for it too long, and the Bear has a lot of positives over it, but the heart wants what it wants. Check out BHPian comments for more insights and information.
