Hyderabad: A 19-year-old Rozina Begum, a pregnant Rohingya woman, was killed by her husband Zahed Hussain in Balapur. Begum was strangled by Hussain three days ago and died while undergoing treatment, a Balapur police official said.
According to police, the couple got married seven months ago and Begum was in her third month of pregnancy. For the past few months, Hussain and his mother had been harassing and beating Begum. Three days ago, while she was sleeping, Hussain strangled her with a rope. When Begum’s mother saw this and raised the alarm, he fled the house. Begum was rushed to a private hospital where she died on Sunday. Police have registered a murder case against Hussain and have reportedly detained him for questioning.
