Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh high court on Tuesday issued notices to the state govt, Kalki Trust for Rural Service, and India Rural Development Mission in the petition contending that the Kalki temple at Batulavallam village under Vardayapalem mandal in Chittoor district was built without obtaining requisite permissions.
In a similar petition, the HC issued notices to Calvary temple at Namburu in Guntur district.
One Muni Chandra Sekhar, along with five others from Batulavallam, moved the HC challenging the inaction of the Panchayat Raj department regarding the Kalki temple, which was built allegeldy without any permissions.
Arguing on behalf of the petitioners, Jada Sravan Kumar told the HC that the temple was built flouting the norms and it would set a bad precedent if it were allowed to function in an illegal structure.
Sravan Kumar sought directions from the HC to refrain the Kalki Trust for Rural Service and Indian Rural Development Mission from conducting prayers and meetings in the said temple.
A similar petition was filed by one Parasa Suresh Kumar regarding the Calvary temple situated at Namburu in Guntur district.
Sravan Kumar argued for Suresh Kumar, stating that the Calvary temple was built without any permissions from the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA), Panchayat Raj, revenue, and municipal administration departments. He sought similar orders as in the Kalki temple petition.
The HC issued notices to the state govt and also to the two temples to submit all details and posted the matter for further hearing after four weeks.
