Deputy Assistant Commissioner Caught Accepting Rs 1.50 Lakh Bribe in Vijayawada | Vijayawada News

Vijayawada: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught KS Srinivasa Prasad, deputy assistant commissioner of the Ongole commercial tax office, for accepting a bribe of Rs 1.50 lakh. The operation was led by Ongole ACB DSP P Ramachandra Rao.
Srinivasa Prasad demanded bribe from Sridhar Trade Company to waive a fine imposed by the local commercial tax office. Unwilling to comply, the merchant alerted the ACB, which set up a trap and caught the official red-handed in his office while accepting the bribe. The officials also recovered the cash on the spot. The victim told officials that Srinivasa Prasad initially demanded Rs 4.50 lakh but later settled for Rs 1.50 lakh.
ACB arrested Srinivasa Prasad and is investigating the case further, including allegations of extortion involving other merchants in the region.
