Guntur Set to Host Major IMA State Conference with Renowned Medical Experts | Vijayawada News


Guntur: The three-day annual state conference of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) will be held in Guntur from Friday and Union minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, who is also a medical doctor, will inaugurate the conference.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, organizing secretary Dr T Seva Kumar said that the Guntur chapter of IMA got the opportunity to host the state conference after almost 16 years. It was last held in Guntur in 2008. He explained that more than 1,500 medical professionals, including international experts in different fields, will attend the conference to share their knowledge with young professionals. He said that IMA national president Dr. RV Ashokan and secretary Dr. Anil Kumar J will attend the conference as the guests of honour.
IMA state conference organizing committee chairman Dr Garapati Nandakishore said that they would organize different scientific sessions during the three-day long event. He said that there would be a workshop on ultrasound scanning, ECG, BLS (CPR) echocardiography on the first day, while there would be talks by 70 renowned medical experts from various disciplines in the next two days.
He said that globally renowned medical practitioners from various disciplines would present the latest developments, modern medical procedures, diagnosis and treatment methods during the conference. He explained that prominent neurologists, Dr V Rama Tarakanath, Dr P Vijaya, prominent cardiologists Dr B. Somaraju, Dr P Ramesh Babu, Dr P N S Haritha, Dr N Srikanth, eminent gynecologist Dr. Anagani Manjula, orthopedic surgeons Dr B Narender Reddy, Dr J Naresh Babu, cancer specialists Dr. MG Naga Kishore, Dr Durgaprasad, Dr. TV Siva Ramkrishna and other medical experts will speak during the conference.
IMA former president Dr N Kishore, Guntur branch president Dr Y Subbarayudu, secretary Dr B Sai Krishna and were present.
