We saw the Tata Sierra EV in its concept avatar at the 2020 Auto Expo, followed by the public debut of its near-production version at last year’s Bharat Mobility Show. Now, the carmaker has confirmed that the petrol and diesel versions of the Sierra will arrive towards the end of 2025. The SUV’s electric iteration is likely to go on sale first, as was the case with the Curvv. Leaked patent images reveal that the SUV’s final version will stay true to its concept. The Sierra’s boxy and tall stance resembles Land Rover SUVs. Up front, the SUV features LED headlamps with a split setup, a new faux grille, an upright and flatter bonnet with muscular ridges, large air intakes, a skid plate, an LED light bar tucked underneath the bonnet line, and a sporty bumper. The blacked-out C and D pillars are retained from the original model. Flared wheel arches, body cladding, Safari-inspired aero-designed alloy wheels, functional roof rails, and flush door handles enhance its side profile. At the rear, the upcoming Tata Sierra has a small integrated roof spoiler and a larger window area for all three rows.
As Tata’s flagship offering, the Sierra is expected to come packed with advanced comfort and safety features. These include a large, free-standing touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and a twin-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo. Additional features are likely to include dual-zone climate control, ambient mood lighting, soft-touch finishes on the dashboard and door pads, a large panoramic glass roof, AC vents for all three rows, a 360-degree camera, an ADAS suite, and a blind-spot monitor.
Engine specifications of the forthcoming Tata Sierra are not available at this point. The SUV’s electric version will be based on Tata’s Activ.ev platform and is likely to feature a 60kWh battery. Its range is expected to be around 500km on a full charge, with a dual-motor AWD setup also on offer.
