Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday said that he was sent to jail in false cases. Terming the recent election victory as a revolution, he said that the people are aware of the facts and gave a decisive mandate.
Speaking on the 162-day NDA govt in the assembly, Naidu said that welfare, development, and good governance are NDA’s policies.
Recollecting the incidents that happened on the floor of the assembly during the YSRCP regime, Naidu said that he felt pain and anguish when his family members were in the assembly. “They filed illegal cases and sent me to jail. I did no wrong and will not do so. I can never forget the support of Telugu people in 80 countries who fought for me when I was jailed for 53 days,” said Naidu.
Stating that power and positions are not new to him, Naidu said that he faced unprecedented situations due to the destructive governance of the past five years. The dysfunctional systems, the derailed administration, the debts, mistakes, sins, and crimes of the previous govt have become challenges for us. Winning 21 NDA MPs at this crucial juncture also helped the state, which is on a ventilator, said Naidu, adding that the govt is building the state brick by brick. However, people should remember that miracles do not happen overnight.
Highlighting the major decisions taken by the NDA govt after coming to power, Naidu said that the enhancement of pensions, three free gas cylinders, cancellation of the GO that is harming fishermen, scrapping garbage tax, increasing the salaries of priests and barbers working in temples, and removal of GST on handloom weavers are a few of the decisions taken, he said.
The CM said the procurement of paddy and other crops with just a single message on WhatsApp will remove all hurdles for farmers. He said the housing scheme will be launched soon and the works of tapped drinking water are going on at a brisk pace.
Naidu highlighted the industrial policy announced by the state offering more incentives for the speed of doing business and the creation of job opportunities.
Naidu said the govt will show their place to those who harass women. Unlike the previous regime, which used the police force to suppress opposition leaders, the NDA govt will work for the eradication of ganja and drugs and ensure women’s safety even on social media.
“We will not compromise in curbing social media psychos and ganja gangs. If any woman is insulted, that will be their last day,” warned Naidu.
He said that as many as 150 services will be available through WhatsApp very soon. He said that face-to-face interactions with people at the grassroots level will be started soon to take direct feedback and improve service delivery.
Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan said that he wants Naidu to be the CM for the next 10 years. He praised Naidu for taking strict action on erring IPS officers, social media bullies, and ganja peddlers.
Pawan said that Jana Sena ministers are ready to work according to the vision of Naidu and they will work to realise his dreams.
