HYDERABAD: US-based AI powered software engineering services provider Ascendion has set up its AI studio, comprising an AI innovation hub and experience centre, in Hyderabad. This is the company’s second AI Studio in India after the one in Chennai.
The company already has 350 employees working at the Hyderabad facility, which currently has a capacity to accommodate 150 employees in a two-shift hybrid mode, and plans to ramp this number up to 1,000 employees by 2025 end.
The new AI studio in Hyderabad will emerge as a global CoE for innovation in AI for gaming and AR/VR and will also work on verticals such as BFSI, healthcare and lifesciences as well as high tech, AI driven user experience as well as GCC clients, Ascendion CEO Karthik Krishnamurthy said on Thursday.
He said the company, which already has a presence in Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai and Vadodara, decided to set up the facility to fulfil client demand for AI-powered innovation in Hyderabad as it views Hyderabad as a city with a strategic location, vibrant technology ecosystem, AI-ready workforce, and local support.

Ascendion executive vice president for engineering solutions Prakash Balasubramanian said the Hyderabad AI Studio is designed to bring the company’s AI innovation to life for clients.“The space offers an interactive environment for clients and engineers to collaborate on developing cutting-edge solutions that will enhance consumer and worker experiences across multiple sectors. It will help us co-create the future of experience engineering with clients as they see how ideas can move from ideation to prototyping to implementation rapidly and effectively,” he said.
