Tata Motors’ first major product launch in 2025 will be the Harrier EV, which was showcased in its close-to-production version at last year’s Auto Expo. The carmaker has confirmed that the new Tata Harrier EV will go on sale by March, 2025. It will be positioned against the upcoming Mahindra XEV 9edue for an early 2025 launch. The latter will make its official debut on 26th November 2024.
Acti.ev Platform
The Tata Harrier EV will be built on the Acti.ev (Advanced Connected Tech Intelligent Electric Vehicle) architecture, which also underpins the Punch EV and Curvv EV. The Acti.ev is a pure electric platform designed to maximize space and energy efficiency. It supports all three drivetrains – FWD, RWD, and AWD – and is capable of offering a range of up to 600km. Tata EVs based on the Acti.ev platform will support 11kW AC and DC fast charging of up to 150kW.

Battery & Expected Range
The Tata Harrier EV is expected to come with a 60kWh battery pack and dual electric motors, delivering a range of around 500km on a single charge. Tata has already revealed that the electric SUV will feature V2L (vehicle-to-load) and V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) charging capabilities. It’s likely to be offered with the AWD setup, as one of its test mules was spotted with a rear-mounted electric motor.
Stay True to Concept!
Most of the design elements from the concept will be retained, including a closed-off grille, new front and rear bumpers, a coupe-like roofline, and more.

Interior & Features
Its interior layout and features will be similar to the ICE-powered Harrier. The Harrier EV will include a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a digital instrument cluster, a four-spoke steering wheel, wireless phone charging, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, a stubby gear selector lever, a touch-based HVAC panel, a 360-degree surround camera with a blind spot monitoring system, a panoramic sunroof, and a Level 2 ADAS suite.
Estimated Pricing
The Tata Harrier EV is expected to be priced around ₹30 lakh, making it Tata’s flagship electric offering upon launch.
