Galla Ashok is the hero of the movie ‘Devaki Nandana Vasudeva’. Prashanth Varma has given the story for this movie. Directed by Arjun Jandhyala, this movie released today. And let’s go to the review and find out how much the audience liked this film!
Story:
Kamsaraja (Devadatta Nage) behaves like a demon. No one has the guts and courage to oppose him. However, a Shiva saint tells us that Kamsaraj, who went to Kashi, had Pragandam because of his sister’s third child. 21 years pass between some dramatic developments in this sequence. A girl named Satya (Manasa Varanasi) is born to Kansaraj’s younger sister (Devayani). Krishna (Ashok Galla) sees Satya at a wedding and falls in love with her. After spending 21 years in prison, what did Kansaraju do with his younger sister? What truth did his younger sister hide from Kansaraj? What did Krishna achieve for his beloved Satya..? Finally, what did Krishna do to Kamsaraja..? That is the rest of the story.
Plus Points:
Some of the emotional elements in this movie, which is made with a touch of mythology, just seem to be irrelevant. Ashok Galla who played the hero in this movie impressed with his performance and his body language. He impressed well in the action sequences. Ashok Galla’s performance is also good in some critical scenes. Heroine Manasa Varanasi entertains with her performance. Her performance in some love scenes is also impressive.
Devdatta Nage who played another key role in the film also did full justice to his role. Devayani also impressed in another key role. Jhansi has played the role of hero’s mother. Sanjay Swaroop, Shatru, Sreedhar Reddy, Getup Srinu and rest of the cast have also performed well as per the scope of their roles.
Minus Points:
Although there is matter in the main point of this movie ‘Devaki Nandana Vasudeva’, the director hesitated in writing the screenplay according to that point. When a concept like this was taken, it would have been better if the screenplay had been interesting, keeping the movie exciting throughout the movie. But, this movie did not go like that. Even though the story is given a touch of mythology, it remains a logic-less drama at many places.
Putting melodrama scenes to hype hero Ashok’s character is not impressive. Actually, in this digital world, showing a superstition in such a cinematic way does not please the audience. The character of Devdatta Nage should be written more strongly. Also, a strong conflict has to be established at many places in the story. Even if the story is woven on the basis of Puranas.. Interest is not created in the story.. It is the fault of the storyteller who wrote the story.
And the love scenes between the heroines in the love track are also very poor. Also logics are nowhere to be found. Also, the action track between the hero-villains is not strong enough. Overall, this movie feels boring in many places.
Technical Department:
Technically, the work of the technical department in the movie is good. Especially Bheem’s Cicerolio’s music is a plus for the movie. Similarly, Prasad Moorella’s cinematography work is also a highlight of the movie. Editor Tammiraju’s editing is suitable for the movie. However, there is no matter in the story written by Prashant Varma. Arjun Jandhyala’s direction is okay. And the production values followed by producer Somineni Balakrishna in this movie are very good.
Verdict:
In this family emotional drama called ‘Devaki Nandana Vasudeva’ with a touch of mythology.. the main concept and some emotional scenes are okay. However, factors such as uninteresting treatment along with weak main characterizations and especially uninteresting storylines have damaged the outcome of the film. Overall, though some visual elements are good, this film is not impressive.
