Telangana Caste Survey Hits Milestone: Over 1 Crore Households Documented | Hyderabad News

T caste survey sets record, crosses 1 crore households

Hyderabad: The ongoing caste survey crossed the one crore households mark on Friday. The chief minister’s office termed it a record of sorts that over one crore households were covered in such a short span of time since the field-level house-to-house survey commenced on Nov 6.
CM Revanth described the survey as a comprehensive master health check-up for society, a much-needed diagnostic exercise before treatment can begin. “Proud to implement Rahul Gandhi’s vision in Telangana,” said Revanth Reddy on the occasion of the survey crossing the one crore households mark.
A total of 87.1 percent of the survey was completed in the state, and 0.7 percent of the survey details were digitised. Of the total number of 1.17 crore households to be covered, 1.01 crore were covered by the survey to date.
The survey was completed 100 per cent in two districts, Jangaon and Mulugu, and 99.9 per cent in a couple of more districts like Medak and Nalgonda. Greater Hyderabad stood last with 65.4 per cent coverage of the survey as of Friday.
The digitisation of the survey details began in a majority of the districts and was yet to start in some of the districts, including Greater Hyderabad.
Though there were initial hiccups and some people did not cooperate, the massive exercise picked up steam once people understood its importance and essentiality following an appeal made by CM Revanth. The survey taken up by the Telangana govt is set to become a role model for the country. All credit goes to the people, enumerators, supervisors, data entry operators, and others involved in the gigantic exercise, said an official.
The state govt has fixed a target of covering 1.17 crore families. Officials said the survey details will be a foundation for data-driven scientific decision-making in governance.
