HYDERABAD: A man accused of sexually assaulting his seven-year-old boy at Neradigonda of Adilabad district in June 2021, was sentenced to rigorous imprisonment for 20 years and a fine of Rs 10,000, by P Shivaram Prasad, the Special Judge for Pocso cases at Adilabad.
The judge also awarded Rs 5 lakh compensation to the boy. Along with the boy’s testimony, his sister, who was an eyewitness to this heinous crime, was the main witness during the trial, nailing the accused to his guilt.
On the day of the incident, when the boy was at his home playing with his older sister, the accused, 30, took him with him saying that they needed to buy some things from a nearby kirana store.
When the boy did not return home after a long time, his sister went to the accused’s home searching for the boy and found the accused sexually assaulting the boy. Seeing the girl, the accused fled from the place. On a complaint from the boy’s mother, a case was registered and the accused was arrested.
During the trial, the boy told how the accused took him from their home and assaulted, and his sister also detailed how she went searching for her brother and saw that both the accused and her brother were naked and the accused was assaulting her brother.
In addition, the boy’s medical examination also proved that he was raped. The Judge examined the evidences and eleven witnesses and found the accused guilty of raping the boy and convicted him, Adilabad police officials said
