Hyderabad: As part of the ongoing Praja Vijayotsavalu in connection with the Congress govt’s one-year completion in office, a farmers’ conference (rythu sadassu) will be organised in Mahabubnagar on Nov 30.
Chief minister A Revanth Reddy along with agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao held a meeting with the officials here on Saturday and discussed the arrangements being made for the rythu sadassu as part of the victory celebrations of the “people’s govt”.
The CM directed the officials to make proper arrangements to ensure the participation of farmers from all districts in the rythu adassu and not just those from Mahbubnagar. “The rythu sadassu should be organised in such a way that the farmers are made aware of the latest technologies, practices, and other strategies being adopted to make agriculture more profitable. The focus should be more on this aspect and not on organising it as a public meeting,” the CM said.
Stalls should be set up by the agriculture, horticulture, and animal husbandry departments at the venue of the farmers’ conference.
“The stalls should be equipped to educate the farmers about advanced farming methods, new technologies, new crop varieties, research reports of the agriculture university, innovations in oil palm cultivation, innovative products launched by various companies, and their benefits to the farmers. Advanced equipment, electric tractors, drones, etc., should be kept ready for demonstration at the farmers’ conference,” CM Revanth told the officials.
The CM emphasised that a three-day farmers’ meeting should be organised to create awareness among the farmers and not confine it to a one-day rythu sadassu on Nov 30. All the stalls should be opened from Nov 28 itself.
