Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly signed a significant agreement with the Parliamentary Affairs department to implement the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), a revolutionary step toward paperless governance.
Prasanna Kumar Suryadevara, secretary-general, Andhra Pradesh legislature, and Satya Prakash, additional secretary, ministry of parliamentary affairs, signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Delhi on Tuesday to implement the NeVA project in the AP legislature. This event took place in the presence of Koyye Moshenu Raju, chairman, AP legislative council, and Ch Ayyanna Patrudu, speaker, AP legislative assembly.
The initiative aims to integrate parliamentary and assembly activities across the country under one digital platform. Andhra Pradesh joins a growing list of states already adopting NeVA to streamline legislative processes. The app enables the conduct of assembly activities in a fully digital format, reducing paper dependency and increasing efficiency.
Aligned with the state govt’s push for paperless administration, funds will be allocated for the system’s implementation in both the legislative assembly and council. The state govt will bear 40% of the project’s cost, with the remaining covered under Central assistance.
As part of the transition, dashboards and specialised tablets will be provided to all members of the assembly and council, equipping them with tools to access legislative information, documents, and schedules digitally.
