It took a bit of time to get used to a left-hand drive car as the last time I had driven was almost a decade back.
BHPian BlackPearl recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
It is not very often that we take flights for a trip and the last time was in 2020 when we went for a couple of days to Nice. We had thoroughly enjoyed that trip and it makes a lot of sense if one is looking for a quick getaway.
This will be more of a photo-log. The trip included quite a bit of walking and hiking along with some amount of driving. It was planned in a haste as we wanted to hike in the Alps before onset of winter.
Day 1 – London to Saas Fee
Started from Heathrow airport in the morning, took a British Airways flight to Geneve.
Waiting at the airport, trying to mask my tension of flying with a dry smile!
Geneve airport looked beautiful and there was a rainbow as well!
We hired a car from the airport. I had specifically asked for a manual while booking online, but they did not have any option when we went to the counter of Avis rentals. Settled for a Fiat 500x but not without muttering about my displeasure. It took a bit of time getting used to a left-hand drive car as the last time I had driven was almost a decade back in the USA. It also took sometime to get used to the lack of power.
Stopped for a quick bite on the way to Saas Fee.
The car
We reached Saas Fee in the afternoon. Like most of the alpine towns in Switzerland, we had to park at a designated parking area outside the town and walk to the place where we were staying.
Saas Fee
The small town was buzzing with skiers everywhere
It broke my heart that Bolero is a Taxi even in Switzerland
