Mahindra XEV 9e – Battery, Range, Power
Based on the modular born-electric INGLO platform, the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e share the same powertrain. The coupe-SUV comes with 59kWh and 79kWh LFP (lithium-iron phosphate) batteries, enhanced with BYD’s Blade Cell technology. Mahindra calls it the compact “three-in-one powertrain,” which includes an inverter, a motor, and the transmission. The power outputs of the 59kWh and 79kWh batteries are 228bhp and 281bhp, respectively. Both EVs deliver a maximum torque of 380Nm.
The larger 79kWh battery is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 6.7 seconds and offers a range of 656km (on the MIDC cycle) and 533km (on the WLTP cycle). These batteries can reportedly charge from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes using fast charging of up to 175kWh DC. Mahindra also offers an 11.2kW AC charger and a 7.3kWh charger as standard, though they are chargeable.
Feature-Loaded Interior
Mahindra has equipped the XEV 9e with a host of advanced features. The standout highlight is the three-screen setup with individual 12.3-inch displays. These screens have a 1920×720 resolution and run on Mahindra’s Adrenox software. The SUV features a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel with an illuminated logo, an electronic parking brake, drive modes, and XUV700-like switchgear for HVAC and center console controls.
The higher trim includes Level 2 ADAS technology, a head-up display (HUD), a 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof, a blind-spot monitoring system, seven airbags, and a parking assistance system. The entry-level One variant comes with automatic climate control with rear AC vents, 4 speakers and 2 tweeters, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, the three-screen setup, a height-adjustable driver’s seat and seatbelt, Type-C charging ports, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, push-button start, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and automatic headlights and wipers.
