Devi Sri Prasad, who is mostly known for his work and staying away from controversies, is now the most devastated person, and the reasons are known to everyone: he has been replaced by other music directors to score the BGM for Pushpa 2.
If we look from Devi’s point of view, his anger or frustration is totally justified. It was DSP’s songs that made Pushpa so popular after Allu Arjun, so he deserves a lion’s share of credit for the first part’s popularity.

If we look at Devi’s work for the past couple of years, he hasn’t done many films to neglect a project like Pushpa 2.
He has done only two films in 2023 (Waltair Veerayya, Rathnam), and in 2024, too, he has committed to very few projects (Kanguva, Pushpa 2, Thandel).

This shows his commitment to a prestigious project like Pushpa 2.
But now the question arises: why is director Sukumar unhappy with DSP?

Sukumar needs to answer this, we would say.
He has been sitting on a regular mass masala project like Pushpa 2, which does not need any VFX, for three years, and he is not showing his face anywhere in promotions, as he is still working on the film that is releasing in the next 10 days.
So now the question is: is it fair to blame a celebrated music director like Devi Sri Prasad?
If Sukumar had not taken these many years to complete a mass film and had not rushed DSP before the release, hypothetically, Devi would have given his best.
So whose mistake is this? Is it not director Sukumar’s most unorganized way of working?
DSP has stood as a backbone for every single film that Sukumar has directed so far—literally every single film.
And all the films Sukumar directed heavily benefited from DSP’s work. For that matter, with weak music, some of these films would not even have become hits if we look at the Sukumar-DSP list of movies (Arya, Jagadam, Arya 2, 100% Love, 1: Nenokkadine, Nannaku Prematho, Rangasthalam, Pushpa).
Now, what has Sukumar done to Devi Sri, who gave his life to his films and their success? It is definitely heartbreaking for DSP. Just imagine, after all these albums he gave to Sukumar, he had to ask for credits for Pushpa 2 publicly.
In a way, Sukumar has fully used DSP and made him stand at crossroads today. This is the reason why a celebrated music director like Devi Sri Prasad looks so shattered.
Even for Allu Arjun, DSP gave 8 musical hits and never let him down, but sadly, even the hero could not help him.
DSP’s pain is deep, and what the Pushpa 2 team did to him is sad. Hopefully, he will bounce back big time with his future films, as one film can’t hurt his career so much.
