Honda Activa e, QC1 Electric Scooters Unveiled – All Key Details

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has finally made its entry into the Indian two-wheeler segment with the Activa e and QC1 electric scooters. Both models will go on sale in January 2025, with bookings starting from 1st January. Deliveries will start from the month of February in a phased manner. In the first phase, the new Honda electric scooters will be made available in three metro cities – Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru.

The two-wheeler maker is providing a three-year or 50,000km warranty on both e-scooters, three free services during the first year, and complimentary roadside assistance for the first 12 months. The new Honda Activa e and QC1 electric scooters are offered in five colour schemes – Pearl Igneous Black, Pearl Serenity Blue, Pearl Shallow Blue, Pearl Misty White, and Matt Foggy Silver Metallic.

The new Honda Activa electric scooter is being offered in two variants – Activa e and Honda RoadSync Duo. Both variants have two 1.5kWh removable batteries, offering a claimed range of 102km. Batteries can be swapped at Honda’s dedicated swapping stations. One must note that there is no option to charge batteries at home or anywhere else. The Activa e also has an electric motor delivering a maximum power of 6kW and 22Nm of torque. It can do 0 to 60kmph in 7.3 seconds. The new Honda electric scooter offers three riding modes – Econ, Standard, and Sport.

The base variant Honda Activa e comes with a 5-inch TFT screen and all-LED lighting. Features such as a 7-inch TFT screen, navigation, smartphone connectivity, maintenance alert, call and music control, topple alert, live tracking, and OTA updates are reserved for the top-end Honda RoadSync Duo variant.

The Honda Activa electric scooter has been equipped with the telescopic fork and three-step adjustable spring-loaded hydraulic monoshock suspension. It has 12-inch wheels with 90-section and 110-section tyres at the front and rear axles, respectively. The electric scooter has a ground clearance of 171mm and carries a kerb weight of 118kg (for the base variant) and 119kg (for the top variant).

The Honda QC1 electric scooter comes with a 1.5kWh fixed lithium-ion battery, delivering a claimed range of up to 80km on a full charge. Its battery can be juiced up from 0 to 80 percent in 4.5 hours via a standard wall charger. The electric scooter also features a hub-mounted electric motor pushing out a maximum power of 1.8kW. It offers a top speed of 50kmph. There are two riding modes – Standard and Econ. The new Honda QC1 provides under-seat storage of 26 litres. Its suspension setup includes a telescopic fork and five-step adjustable hydraulic dual shocks rear unit.

Visually, the Honda QC1 electric scooter looks similar to the new Honda Activa electric scooter. However, the former misses out on the LED DRL on the handlebar cover, and it has simple design 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels with 90-section tyres. In terms of features, the new Honda electric scooter offers a 5.0-inch LCD display, a USB Type-C charging socket, and all-LED lighting. It has a ground clearance of 169mm and a kerb weight of 89.5kg.

Expected Prices

The Honda Activa e is likely to be priced slightly premium over the QC1. While the electric Activa is estimated to cost around Rs 1.3 lakh, the QC1 might be priced around Rs 1 lakh.
