Installation of CCTV cameras in school premises and promoting digital wellness among students were among the key focus areas in the meeting conducted with school managements and faculty in the South West Zone of Hyderabad.
South West Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police G. Chandra Mohan expressed concern over increasing prevalence of online gaming addictionparticularly PUBG and online betting. He urged schools to conduct awareness programmes to educate students about the negative impacts of these activities on their academic performance, mental health and overall well-being.
The DCP also stressed the importance of addressing issues like sexual-harassment, ragging, and drug abuse, which can have severe consequences.
The official emphasised that schools should foster an inclusive and respectful learning environment where students from diverse backgrounds feel safe and comfortable.
