Israel has expressed willingness to provide technical expertise for the Musi river rejuvenation project initiated by the Telangana government, Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu’s office said on Friday after a meeting with Israel’s Ambassador Reuven Azar.

The Ambassador, who proposed collaboration in infrastructure development, also extended an invitation to Chief Minister A.Revanth Reddy and Mr.Sridhar Babu to visit Israel.

Conveying gratitude to Mr.Azar during the meeting at the State Secretariat here, the Minister said Israel’s interest in fostering mutual cooperation between the two countries was heartening. Considering Israel’s global leadership in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity, Mr.Sridhar Babu urged for collaboration in these domains to benefit Telangana.

He also sought Israel’s support in defence, agriculture, water management, advanced technologies and industrial development. The ambassador responded positively, the Minister’s office said in a release.

Mr.Sridhar Babu informed the ambassador about the proposed 200-acre AI City near Hyderabad and sought Israel’s assistance in providing advanced training for trainers in AI and cybersecurity. Wastewater reuse technologies was another area in which Israel could support the State. Referring to the Young India Skills University conceived by the State government, the Minister said it is poised to supply skilled human resources for any industrial project that Israel might invest in the State.

The Minister said with Israel’s support in innovation and industrial setups, Telangana could emerge as a global hub, exporting products worldwide. He also urged Israeli startups to share technology and expertise in defence and aerospace sectors.
