Kia Syros, the upcoming subcompact SUV from the South Korean automaker, will make its global debut in India on 19th December 2024. This new model is said to offer “advanced technology, bold design, and versatile space.” Aiming to create market buzz, the carmaker has released a couple of teasers revealing some of its key features and design elements. The latest teaser confirms that the Syros will feature an ADAS (advanced driver assistance system) suite, offering functionalities such as lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and a collision avoidance system. It will also come equipped with a panoramic sunroof.
A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system will be borrowed from the Seltos. The new Kia compact SUV will also feature a fully digital instrument cluster, leatherette upholstery, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless charging, drive modes, and traction modes. The higher trims are likely to include exclusive safety fitments such as six airbags, a 360-degree camera, parking sensors, and hill-hold assist. The safety kit will also comprise ABS with EBD, rear disc brakes, and a tire pressure monitoring system.

Official details of the upcoming Kia Syros are yet to be revealed. However, the subcompact SUV is reported to address the Sonet’s cramped rear passenger seating issue with its tall stance and improved interior packaging.
The new Kia compact SUV will derive its design inspiration from the EV9 SUV. Key design highlights include Kia’s signature Tiger Nose grille, vertically positioned projector LED headlamps, a clamshell bonnet, an upright nose, four-spoke alloy wheels, roof rails, flush-style door handles, a high-mounted stop lamp, L-shaped taillamps integrated into the pillars, and rear bumper-mounted brake lights.
As far as the engine is concerned, the Kia Syros will be introduced with multiple powertrain options, including electric. Initially, the subcompact SUV will be available with ICE engines, likely to include a 1.0L turbo, a 1.0L naturally aspirated engine, and a 1.5L diesel engine. The Syros EV is expected to follow at a later stage. The FWD (front-wheel drive) system will come as standard.
