Elaborate arrangements made for ‘Margasira Masotsavam’ beginning December 2, Kanaka Mahalakshmi temple Executive Officer informs Visakhapatnam District Collector

Executive Officer of the Sri Kanaka Mahalakshmi Devasthanam Shobha Rani on Saturday informed District Collector Harendhira Prasad that over 600 police personnel, 80 Devasthanam staff and around 300 volunteers will be on duty during ‘Margasira Masotsavam’ scheduled to be held between December 2 and 30, at Burujupeta in the One Town area here.

Briefing about the arrangements being made in a review meeting organised at the Devasthanam office at Burujupeta, Ms. Shobha Rani said that with the support of the GVMC, mobile toilets are being arranged for men and women. Drinking water kiosks were set up at five places along the queue lines and 65 dustbins were placed. She said that RTC buses are being run from 70 routes for the convenience of devotees. CCTV cameras, streetlighting, public addressing system and an exclusive control room are being set up, she said. The temple EO said that medical kiosks and child care centres were also being set up for the devotees.

Mr. Harendhira Prasad asked the traffic wing officials to divert traffic at required places keeping in view of devotees rush. The traffic authorities informed that parking lots were set up at four areas, while the space at Ghosha Hospital is being allotted for VIP Parking.
