Energy minister hits back at Jagan over SECI deal

Vijayawada: Energy minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar hit back at former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy for his claims on the power deal with SECI.
Referring to the comments made by Jagan Mohan Reddy that he should be appreciated for the deal, Ravi Kumar asked whether he should be felicitated for resorting to corruption and burdening the exchequer by more than Rs 1 lakh crore.
The minister demanded Jagan to explain the work done by his govt for the state and asked if he should be honoured for paralysing systems and for increasing power charges nine times in five years. He alleged that Jagan’s policies took the state back by 20 years and added that the former chief minister defending the SECI deal without remorse for his wrongdoings is a grave insult to the people of Andhra Pradesh.
Ravi Kumar accused Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy of unprecedented corruption in the power sector, amounting to one lakh crore rupees, and said that Jagan’s corruption crossed state borders before he became chief minister and reached the international level after he came to power in 2019. The minister demanded the YSRCP chief to apologise if he had any respect for the people of the state.
