Prime accused in honey trap case arrested in Visakhapatnam

The Airport Police on Saturday arrested a person named Venu Bhaskar Reddy, who is the prime accused in the honey trap case, which was solved during October this year, involving accused Koruprolu Joy Jamima (27) of Murali Nagar.

The police in their investigation came to know that Venu Bhaskar Reddy has been living in relationship with Joy Jamima. He along with Joy Jamima sketched plans to approach men, from rich background, through social media or through some sources. Later, the woman befriends and cheats them in the name of love and marriage. During their meetings, the woman gives drinks laced with some sedatives or sprays perfume laced with sedatives to them, and later her accomplices come into the action. The gang then takes private pictures of the woman with the men, and extort money by threatening to upload the photos on social media or forwarding it to their kin.

Ever since the case was solved by the city police, the main accused Venu Bhaskar Reddy had gone absconding and was moving in various places across the country to prevent his arrest.
