Rejuvenating a Mitsubishi Cedia: Major service done + other bits

Finally the parts were here and the work began. Everything was done and the car went for a full wash. The car is finally home.

BHPian Jassy1313 recently shared this with other enthusiasts:

7th November 2024:

It’s been more than a year to the last oil change. Usually I change oil on regular intervals but this time I was waiting for a few parts to arrive. Hence the delay.

Cutting the story short; list of parts I had ordered for the car:
OEM Valve cover Gasket
OEM plug seals
OEM Oil Filter
OEM Timing Belt
KOYO Tensioner Pulley

Finally the parts were here and the work began.

Following are the pictures of the work performed.

See the Oil leak all around.

The valve cover is out and things look good inside.

The Old Belt.

The condition is not good but It served well for 14 years and 65k kms.

The new belt and tensioner pulley In place.

Its time to change the Valve cover gasket and plug seals.

It wasn’t easy to remove the Old gasket and seals. The gasket came out in pieces while the seals had become hard like rock.

Somehow we managed to remove it and clean the groves.

It was time to clean the Valve cover now.

It wasn’t an easy task but I managed to clean it to the best I could.

New Gasket in place.

Plug seals all set to go.

Everything in place. Its time to add new engine oil and start the engine.
