The Multi Zone-I team, led by Inspector General of Police (IGP) S. Chandrasekhar Reddy, clinched gold in the All India Lawn Tennis competition organised by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The event, held at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) stadium in Bengaluru, brought together top players from police and paramilitary forces across the country from November 26 to 30.
The highlight of the tournament was the gripping final in the 50-plus age category, where Mr. Chandrasekhar and Additional SP MD Riyaz (Narayanapet AR) faced off against DSPs Ram Kumar and Satyanarayana from Andhra Pradesh. The match concluded with a decisive 9-6 victory for Mr. Chandrasekhar and Mr. Riyaz.
Speaking after the victory, Mr. Chandrasekhar expressed pride in his team’s performance and commended the CISF for organising the event. The tournament saw spirited participation from teams nationwide, emphasising the importance of sports in promoting discipline and resilience among officers.
