Hyderabad: Miyapur police registered a criminal case against a lecturer in a private corporate college on Saturday for allegedly misbehaving with a girl student.
According to a complaint given by her mother, the accused lecturer allegedly touched the girl inappropriately and made some objectionable comments. It was also alleged that the accused used to threaten girl students of giving lower marks if they did not pay heed to his instructions.
The complainant alleged that apart from her daughter a few girl students faced a similar ordeal. On Saturday, the parents of the student argued with the college authorities for failing to take action against the lecturer.
Upon receiving the complaint, police registered a case for violation of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and violation of Sections 74 and 75 of BNS. Police said they are in the process of initiating action against the lecturer.
