Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) ruled out the speculations of drinking water contamination in Jabbarathota area in Ward 37. Superintending Engineer Murali Krishna, in a release on Sunday, said that there were speculations of water contamination after a few people fell ill due to diarrhoea. He said that the water being supplied was tested at the Regional Water Testing Laboratory on November 26 and 28, which turned out to be safe. He also said that all the pipelines and reservoirs in the line were being maintained well. In view of changes in the weather, the GVMC has advised citizens to consume boiled water. As per the officials from the Health Department, they suspect contamination of food as the reason.
