Air Commodore Vikassheel Singh Saini takes charge as AOC of AFS Hakimpet

Air Commodore Vikassheel Singh Saini taking charge as Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station Hakimpet on Monday.

Air Commodore Vikassheel Singh Saini took charge as Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station Hakimpet on Monday (December 2). He succeeded Air Commodore Pankaj Jain.

Commissioned into the fighter stream of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in June 1998, Air Commodore Saini is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and a graduate of the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC). A seasoned aviator and qualified flying instructor, he has logged over 2,100 hours of professional flying on various fighter and trainer aircraft, including the MiG-29, MiG-29 UPG, MiG-21, HJT-16 and HPT-32. He has also been a member of the Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team.

In addition to his operational roles, Air Commodore Saini has served as Aviation Staff Officer under the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS). For his exemplary service, he was awarded the Vayu Sena Medal by President on January 26, 2018.
