Hyderabad: Former minister and BRS MLA T Harish Rao on Sunday charged the Congress govt with making false promises and engaging in fake encounters in Telangana, which he claims is causing unrest throughout the state.
He stated that the Congress govt is not only betraying public trust, but also undermining democracy.
“What is the purpose of celebrating a year in office when the govt engages in fraudulent encounters? On one hand, they impose arrests, detentions, and sanctions, while on the other, they orchestrate fake encounters to suppress dissent,” Harish Rao said in response to the encounter of seven Maoists near Eturnagaram on Sunday.
He accused the Congress govt of failing to fulfil its promises, asserting that all sections of society were deceived, and “the six guarantees promised to the people turned into six betrayals”. tnn
