Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday said the Congress govt implemented numerous welfare schemes, including the waiver of 21,000 crop loans for 25 lakh farmers, provided over 50,000 govt jobs, and appealed to the party cadres and the people of Telangana to teach BRS and BJP a lesson by defeating them in the ensuing panchayat elections.
“Like Sankranti ‘gangireddu’, they will come to you as your well-wishers. Don’t trust them. Look at the performance of the Congress govt in the last year, by which you can imagine what more this govt will offer in the second year. ,” CM Revanth Reddy said at ‘Arogya Utsavalu’.
In an indirect reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Revanth said: “One person has occupied the top chair at the Centre for a third term. He promised to double the income of farmers but did not do so. Instead, three black laws against farmers were brought, after a serious agitation he apologised to farmers.”
