3,192 Agniveers complete 31-week training in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, march into Army’s future

A total of 2,600 Agniveers from the Artillery Centre, Hyderabad, and 592 Agniveers from the 1 EME Centre, Secunderabad, successfully completed their 31-week basic and advanced military training. The event was marked by a passing-out parade held simultaneously at both centres on Tuesday.

At the Artillery Centre, 2,600 Agniveers were inducted into the Regiment of Artillery as Gunners, marking one of the largest cohorts ever trained at a regimental centre. The parade was reviewed by Major General Punit Mehta, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Jodhpur Sub Area, and Colonel Commandant, Regiment of Artillery.

Addressing the newly-minted Gunners, Major General Mehta underscored the historic significance of the occasion, stating, “A new chapter has begun in the history of the Indian Army and the nation. The Agniveers will play a pivotal role in nation-building while serving the motherland.” He highlighted the discipline and camaraderie instilled during their training, which he said would not only shape their service careers but also lay the foundation for a bright future.

Meanwhile, at the 1 EME Centre in Secunderabad, 592 Agniveers were officially inducted after completing their training. Brigadier Prashant Bajpai, Commandant, 1 EME Centre, reviewed the parade and congratulated the Agniveers on their hard work and dedication. He urged them to serve the nation with sincerity and uphold the values of safety, honour, and integrity.

The Agniveers of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME) have been trained as technical specialists, skilled in operating and maintaining Armoured Fighting Vehicles, military vehicles, telecommunications, and refrigeration equipment. Following the parade, these Agniveers will report to field army units across the country.
