Hero MotoCorp is working on a scrambler-style motorcycle based on the Mavrick 440. A trademark filed earlier this year suggests that it is likely to be called ‘Mavrick 440 Scrambler’. Now, a patent filed by the company has revealed the design of the upcoming model. The bike looks similar to the standard Mavrick except for a few cosmetic changes. The Mavrick 440 Scrambler has a gaitered telescopic fork at the front. It has a circular headlamp with a small windscreen and a handlebar brace. The image also reveals a tubular crash guard and sump guard. The bike is likely to be offered with alloy wheels, possibly with a staggered setup. The Scrambler version will use the same 440cc single-cylinder engine as the standard Mavrick 440. This engine produces 27 BHP and 36 Nm and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via an assist and slipper clutch.
