The Chebrolu police of Guntur district on Monday (December 2, 2024) claimed to have solved the murder case of a minor girl, which occurred in Kothareddypalem village on July 15 with the arrest of a daily wage labourer N. Nagaraju.
The accused, who was working as a delivery boy in a private gas agency in Kothareddypalem, reportedly developed intimacy with a woman in the village, who had a daughter and a son.
Suspecting that the minor girl was coming in the way of his relationship with her mother, Nagaraju, allegedly strangled the girl to death at her home and escaped, said Guntur district Superintendent of Police Satish Kumar.
“In another case in the past, the accused, who developed intimacy with a woman at Ibrahimpatnam in NTR District, strangled her to death in 2012, and escaped from the place,” the SP said.
“Police formed eight teams along with Central Crime Station (CCS) police to nab the accused. The teams visited Guntur, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Hanmakonda, Narsipatnam, Tirupati, Rajamhendravaram and other places,” Mr. Satish Kumar told The Hindu.
“Ponnur Rural CI Y. Koteswara Rao and Chebrolu SI D. Venkata Krishna arrested the accused in Rajamahendravaram,” the SP said.
