Hyderabad: Man killed in hit-and-run case in Jawaharnagar

Hyderabad: In a hit and run case, an unidentified man was killed on the spot by a rashly driven unknown vehicle at Balaji Nagar in Jawaharnagar in the wee hours of Wednesday.

The victim, suspected to be aged in forties and a construction worker, was sleeping in the ground in Shiva Nagar Colony, when the vehicle allegedly ran over him.


According to the police, the victim suffered grievous injuries to the head and other parts of the body and died on the spot. The local residents who found his body in the morning, alerted the police.

“He was sleeping in a ground in the colony, when he was mowed down by a vehicle. He died on the spot,” police said, adding that the driver fled the spot immediately after the accident.

The Jawaharnagar police have booked a case of negligence causing death and are examining surveillance camera footage from the vicinity to trace the vehicle and the absconding driver.

The body was shifted to the Gandhi Hospital morgue for autopsy.
