Hyderabad: School students participate in World Wildlife Conservation Day at Nehru Zoo Park


Hyderabad: More than 120 students from eight different schools from the city participated in various competitions organised as part of World Wildlife Conservation Day and Praja Palana – Praja Vijayotsavalu, at Nehru Zoological Park here on Wednesday. Drawing and painting competitions on the topic of wildlife conservation were organised on the occasion.

Zoo curator, J.Vasantha, deputy curator, Barnoba, and staff members participated in a plantation programme organized at the Black Buck enclosures. Plant species like Juvvi, Marri, Narepa, Agesa etc were planted in the zoo premises.


Under the green banner education a pottery workshop was organised for the students and the visitors. About 900 visitors including school students participated in this workshop. Concluding the day-long session, an awareness show on snakes was also organized at the amphi-theatre at reptile house in which about 1000 students from different schools and visitors participated, according to a press release.
