HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court was not inclined to grant any relief to Nizamabad BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind regarding registering a case against him under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act by the Madannapet police.
They had registered the case in 2021 after receiving a complaint from Bangaru Sailoo, belonging to the SC community, who alleged that Arvind had belittled SC and ST communities by making derogatory remarks against them.
Arvind had made the statement on October 31, 2021, after the ‘mulakat’ with Teenmar Mallanna in the Chanchalguda jail. Seeking quash of the case, Arvind approached the High Court and the court had earlier granted him interim relief by directing the police not to arrest him.
