Hyderabad: “Your education doesn’t conclude today. Learning never ends. As you enter your workplace, always stay hungry for knowledge. If you wish to succeed, constantly learn and update your skills, collaborate, be flexible and adaptive. Be bold, especially when you have opted for a challenging role,” said DRDO chairman Samir Kamat, at the 22nd convocation of NIT Warangal.
At the ceremony, Kamat highlighted the promising prospects at DRDO and encouraged graduates to consider it as a career option. “You are the future of the nation. Your generation will lead in transitioning India from a developing to a developed nation,” he said at the event where 1,875 students received their degrees.
Additionally, 11 students were awarded gold medals, and new recognitions for outstanding PhD theses and PG achievements were introduced. The institution also marked the occasion with the inauguration of a health centre.
In all, 1,875 candidates were awarded their degrees. Among them, 147 received PhD degrees, 539 received MTech degrees, 154 received MSc degrees, 22 received MBA degrees, 55 received MCA degrees, and 949 received BTech degrees, with 9 more degrees awarded per the exit policy in line with the National Education Policy. Earlier, Kamat inaugurated the institute health centre, which has a 10-bed emergency ward, laboratory, physiotherapy, and pharmacy provisions, and will be beneficial to students and staff.
