Hyderabad: Former Minister and senior BRS MLA T Harish Rao was arrested by the police at the residence of BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy in Kondapur on Tuesday. He was reportedly shifted to Gachibowli police station.
On Thursday morning, Harish Rao went to meet Kaushik Reddy against whom the police registered a case at Banjara Hills police station on Wednesday, accusing him of disrupting their duties.
However, the police personnel who were deployed in large numbers to reportedly arrest Kaushik Reddy, did not allow Harish Rao to meet him.
Instead, the police escorted him out, leading to a heated argument between Harish Rao and the police officials who later arrested him. The BRS cadre who accompanied Harish Rao tried to stop the police vehicle carrying him, but in vain. They raised slogans against the State government, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and the police for the vendatta politics.
Kaushik Reddy had on Wednesday gone to Banjara Hills police station to lodge a complaint against the Chief Minister alleging that his phone was being tapped.
However, an argument ensued between the BRS MLA and the Station House Officer when the latter tried to leave without taking the complaint. Based on the official’s complaint, the police registered a case against the MLA for obstructing the duty of a police officer.
