Hyderabad: The Gadwal police on Thursday issued orders banning bullock boulder-pulling competition during the Maldakal Jatara. The police warned that organising bullock boulder pulling and bullock cart racing is a violation of law.
The Maldakal police asked people against indulging in any kind of bullock boulder pulling competitions. “If anyone is found in violation of the law, police will initiate action as per the law. If people want to know more information, they can approach the police to get the right information,” police said in the notice. Police would also deploy security for smooth conduct of Jatara in Maldakal to prevent untoward incidents.
Every year in December, villagers origanise Maldakal Thimmappa Jatara during the Pournami. Every year nearly 20 lakh devotees from different places, like Karnataka and Maharashtra attend the Jatara.
