Vijayawada: A family in Nandyal district went missing after releasing a video hinting at mass suicide due to severe harassment over rented shops.
The family, led by one Nagaraju, alleged that one of their tenants named Arun stopped paying rent, forged documents claiming earlier tenancy, and filed a false court case. The family also accused him of blocking access to their home and threatening to post manipulated photographs and videos of them on social media.
In the video, Nagaraju blamed Arun for their plight and urged others to verify tenants thoroughly. He explained that his family had constructed some commercial shops in 2022 and had rented them out to tenants. However, a tenant named Arun did not pay rent for the past six months and intimidated the landlord’s family when asked for the due rent amount. Nagaraju also claimed that despite several complaints against Arun, police did not take any action against him. This, as mentioned by Nagaraju, led to the family feeling abandoned by the justice system. Nandyal Two-Town police are now investigating the case and searching for the family.
Efforts are underway to trace the family, and further investigations are being conducted to verify the allegations and locate Nagaraju and his family.
